What makes the SegScrew different from a conventional prosthetic screw?

The SegScrew combines a specialized screw-head geometry with patented design features, including grooves incorporated into the screw design, and is designed to work with the SegDriver™ at angulations of up to 30°.

Why is 30° angulated access important?

Angulated driver access can make it easier to reach prosthetic screws when the ideal screw-access trajectory is difficult because of implant position, prosthetic design, or limited intraoral access.

Does the SegScrew require a special driver?

The SegDriver™ is specifically designed to interface with the SegScrew™ and provide secure engagement, including when the driver is used at an angle. BUT you can also use a Straumann driver.

Does the SegScrew stay attached to the SegDriver?

The SegScrew/SegDriver interface is designed to provide secure engagement and screw retention on the driver, helping clinicians manipulate and position the screw more easily.

How far can the SegDriver be angled?

The SegScrew™ and SegDriver™ system is designed to permit driver engagement at angles of up to 30°.

Does the design help reduce stripping?

The SegDriver interface is engineered to maximize engagement with the screw head and reduce the tendency for the driver to slip or strip compared with poorly engaged conventional driver interfaces. Avoid saying it is “strip-proof.”

What are the grooves on the SegScrew for?

The SegScrew incorporates patented groove features as part of its proprietary design. The grooves work as anti-rotational elements for softer materials like PMMA, Resin and Peek-like materials.

Is the SegScrew patented?

Yes. The SegScrew incorporates patented technology protected by a U.S. utility patent. You can list the applicable patent number directly on the product and regulatory pages.

Is the SegScrew FDA cleared?

Yes. SegScrew™ is FDA 510(k) cleared under K251188. FDA clearance means FDA determined the device was substantially equivalent to a legally marketed predicate device for its cleared indications; it should not be described as “FDA approved.”

What torque should I use?

Use only the torque specified in the SegScrew Instructions for Use (IFU) and applicable restorative protocol. If your cleared labeling specifies 20 Ncm, this can be stated as the recommended torque.

Why should I use the SegDriver instead of a standard driver?

Its engagement geometry is designed specifically around the SegScrew interface, allowing secure engagement while supporting angulated access.

Can the SegDriver be used at 30°?

Yes, the system is designed to maintain engagement at driver angulations of up to 30°, providing greater flexibility when direct access is difficult.

Does the SegDriver hold the screw?

The interface is designed to retain the SegScrew on the driver, which can make transferring and positioning small prosthetic screws easier.

Why would I need a LandMarker?

Full-arch scanning can become challenging when anatomy changes during treatment or when there are insufficient stable landmarks. The LandMarker provides a distinct reference point that can assist with digital dataset alignment.

Is the LandMarker a restorative dental implant?

No. It is intended as a workflow landmark rather than as an implant for supporting a definitive dental prosthesis.

How is the LandMarker placed?

According to your stated protocol, placement involves a 2 mm osteotomy with approximately 6 mm of engagement into hard bone. The exact surgical protocol should always follow the official IFU.

Where is the LandMarker placed?

Placement should be determined by the clinician according to the approved protocol, available anatomy, and the requirements of the digital workflow.

Do I need a special driver?

Yes. The dedicated LandMarker Latch Driver™ is designed for placement and removal of the LandMarker.

Is the LandMarker Latch Driver reusable?

Follow the official IFU for cleaning, sterilization, inspection, reuse, and replacement requirements.

Can it be used for both placement and removal?

Yes, if this is supported by your IFU. The driver is intended to securely engage the LandMarker during the applicable placement and removal steps of the workflow.

Why does the LandMarker need its own driver?

Its interface is specifically designed around the LandMarker geometry to provide secure engagement and controlled handling.
